We continue to push for the safety demand #1: Proof of payment officers are not permitted to ask riders to get off of MUNI, to obstruct people’s movement, or to put their hands on people or their property. January 31st extended Deadline

This is top priority to hold SFMTA and the City of San Francisco accountable for aggressive ticketing, even ticketing riders in error. Sometimes they ask a rider to get off and other times they ticket them on the bus. We see these proof of payment officers assume people are fare evaders when they are just trying to get to work and school. This is our public transit system and we say prioritize rider safety now!
